Master of Arts in Intercultural Ministry
The Master of Arts in Intercultural Ministry is designed to prepare ministers to serve in settings with a diversity of cultural groups interfacing with and impacting one another. This is one of five new degree options for students who are interested in preparing for ministry in specialized fields.
Of the required 36 credit-hours of study, at least 24 hours must be completed in residence (traditional classroom setting) with an option to complete the other 12 hours in either online or blended courses, as available. In addition to the necessary coursework, all students are required to participate in the appropriate spiritual formation program offered at CTU.
Educational goals and outcomes for students:
- Ability to envision ministry in particular cultural and religious contexts
- Ability to engage in personal and communal spiritual formation toward transformation and growth
- Ability to foster dialogue across cultural and religious boundaries
- Understanding of the theological dynamics of social reconciliation
- Ability to do theological reflection on intercultural ministry
- Ability to integrate intercultural ministerial concerns and theological study

Foundations: Religious Experience in Context (2 credits)
Introduction to Old Testament (2 credits)
Introduction to New Testament (2 credits)
Concentration Core Courses
Praxis for Intercultural Transformation (3 credits)
Reconciliation and Forgiveness (3 credits)
Abraham’s Children (3 credits)
Christology and Culture (3 credits)
Additional Required Courses
Courses focused on culture (at least 13 credits)
Final paper/portfolio/project (3 credits)
Total: 36 credit-hours
Participation in appropriate spiritual formation program
