Master of Arts in Justice Ministry
The Master of Arts in Justice Ministry will prepare and provide ministers with expertise in dealing with theological and pastoral issues related to reconciliation and peace-making processes within the church and the world. The four concentrations offered include: environmental justice, racial justice, reconciliation, and social justice.
This is one of five new degree options for students who are interested in preparing for ministry in specialized fields. Of the required 36 credit-hours of study, at least 24 hours must be completed in residence (traditional classroom setting) with an option to complete the other 12 hours in either online or blended courses, as available. In addition to the necessary coursework, all students are required to participate in the appropriate spiritual formation program offered at CTU.Educational goals and outcomes for students:
- Attainment of a solid grounding in Catholic theological warrants for justice in a globalized world
- Attainment of a specialized knowledge of one issue area: environmental justice, racial justice, reconciliation, or social justice
- Attainment of a set of practical skills that enables the employment of best practices in ministry for justice
- Integration of theological knowledge, skills in issue analysis, and ministerial practices for justice ministry
