The mission of the Hesburgh Sabbatical at Catholic Theological Union is to gather Catholic ministers for a renewal, broadening and deepening of their personal, professional and spiritual lives all within the context of a residential international faith community.
Come and see what you will encounter at the Hesburgh Sabbatical Program:
RENEW: be enlightened in mind and spirit through classes and informal discussions.
REJOICE: be nourished in spirit by participation in prayer, liturgy and spiritual direction.
REFRESH: being strengthened in body through diet, exercise and sleep.
RELAX: take time off and enjoy the richness of Chicago, its lakefront, and restaurants and theaters.
RESPECT: take time to look again at self and others in a global community of faith seekers.
Past Participant Comments:
"Excellent, life-changing!” Rev. Michael Kennedy, S.J. Los Angeles, CA
"The four month Hesburgh sabbatical experience offered a variety of opportunities which met my needs in the 34th year of my priestly ministry. The academic component was stimulating and reinforced my ministerial experience. The life and ministerial experience of the other participants was a support while giving hope for the future of church.” Rev Pete Wieneke, O.S.A., Austraila
