DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
Catholic Theological Union at Chicago, the largest Roman Catholic graduate school of theology in the United States, is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications. The Director of Marketing and Communications reports directly to the Senior Director of Enrollment Management and will work closely with the Senior Director in the creation and implementation of an integrated communications plan that conveys a consistent and welcoming institutional image and presence which authentically represents the mission, vision, programs, and people of Catholic Theological Union (CTU) to external audiences. In concert with the Senior Director, the Director will provide expertise for enrollment marketing and communications, institutional campaigns, public events, special projects and internal communications and publications and clarifies and cohesively communicates the image, key messages, and distinctive character of CTU.
The Director of Marketing and Communications supervises a full-time Communications Assistant, who is responsible for assisting the Director in fulfilling their overall duties, plus supervises a part-time Webmaster. In addition the Director will oversee outside contractors in design, production and management of communications projects.
The Director should be familiar with the environment of a Catholic graduate school of theology and committed to its mission; has proven experience in the above areas of marketing and communications; familiarity with and/or awareness of higher education context and enrollment operations; experience with communications strategies; managerial skills and interpersonal skills; and demonstrated experience in successfully working with the media management.

Director of the Oscar Romero Scholars Program
Catholic Theological Union at Chicago, the largest Roman Catholic graduate school of theology in the United States, is seeking a Director of the Oscar Romero Program. The Director is responsible for the overall promotion and well-being of the program, for working with the Archdiocese and CTU in the recruitment and selection of qualified candidates, and for insuring the ongoing support and direction of the scholars as they pursue their program of studies and formation. The Director is responsible for all the administrative work connected with the program, all communications regarding the program, and, in accord with CTU’s procedures and programs, serves as the academic advisor to the scholars. The Director reports to the Vice President and Academic Dean and works in close collaboration with the staff at the Archdiocese of Chicago and an Advisory Board composed of representatives from CTU. In addition the Director works with the Development Office of CTU in the effort to raise funds for the program.
The Director should hold at least a Master’s degree in theology or a related field; have an understanding of and ability to lead and coordinate processes of formation for ministry experience; have familiarity with the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Hispanic community in Chicago; have an aptitude for administrative work; enjoy working with students; and be comfortable with the mission and environment of a Catholic graduate school of theology.
